Bearing Souls

           

     Everyone has a story.  I listen to become connected and I only ask for the stories that people need to tell.  Observation and documentation are the mechanisms I use to empathize with the people I meet and to acknowledge the disparate episodes that establish our common humanity.  Offering myself as a captive audience for strangers facilitates a therapeutic experience for both of us.  This symbiotic relationship allows me to become more than just a silent observer; it allows me to feel a universal connection to another human being.  I hope to amplify the voices of those who choose to be amplified – to realize the human experience.   

   

     Traditional documentary images capture one fraction of a second.  My images are able to realize the emotional pivot point for entire lives by layering photographs to capture the time and presence of a central memory being recovered.
